Parity remains on the cards in EUR/USD – Danske Bank

FXStreet (Edinburgh) - According to analysts at Danske Bank, the pair could move towards the parity level in the medium term.

“Fundamentals still favour a lower EUR/USD on a 3-6M horizon in our view, with the outlook for a first Fed hike earlier than priced and an ECB committed to an aggressive easing scheme”.

“As discussed, relative rates remain decisive in setting a direction for EUR/USD and are likely to start weighing on the cross again ahead of the summer”.

“We still project a bottom in EUR/USD in early autumn, eyeing 1.02 in 6M, with the possibility of undershooting towards parity. This will be the final stage of the USD take-off in our view”.

USD/JPY regains footing, back at 124.50

The broad based recovery in the USD seen in the early European session on Tuesday helped the USD/JPY recover from the low of 124.14 to trade at 124.50 levels.
