Greece to ask for ESM money to repay ECB

FXStreet (Mumbai) - An EU official on Tuesday confirmed that the EU commission has received a new Greek proposal,through which Greece is to ask the ‘Troika’ for money via the European Stability Mechanism (ESM) to repay the debt to the European Central Bank (ECB).

The official said the EU is currently evaluating the proposal. The French press is also reporting that Greece has submitted a new three-page reform plan to its creditors.

Speaking to media on Tuesday, Japan's Economy Minister Akira Amari said that it is important for currencies to move in line with economic fundamentals in a stable manner and those sudden moves in exchange rates are not desirable.
